Volunteers

With literally millions of disabled and differently abled Americans seeking to return to work, and with unemployment on the rise, our need for volunteers is greater than ever. We know that many of you are seeking ways to improve yourselves and your communities; we can't think of anything more positive than helping someone who can - and wants - to return to work do just that.

Volunteer

We're looking for volunteers with the skills or talents to help home-based business owners or to help persons become self-employed at home. Anyone with these skills or talents can volunteer, especially:

  • Retired teachers
  • Guidance counselors
  • Vocational counselors
  • Employment agency staffers
  • Small business owners

Specific Needs

These are our specific volunteer needs:

  1. Teaching self-employment: For example, if you buy items at auctions and garage sales and re-sell them on the Internet, could you teach others how it's done?
  2. Assisting us in setting up persons in self-employment: Are you good at asking for donations from businesses for items like computers, for use by disabled persons beginning self-employment?
  3. Volunteers may also be persons who desire to be productive, but are too disabled or too ill for paid employment; volunteer coordinators, mentors, etc.
  4. We need volunteers to help job seekers with mock interviews. If you're a retired personnel or HR person (although that's not a requirement) this might be for you.
  5. Mentoring. We need volunteers who can maintain contact and offer coaching and advice to disabled men and women returning or trying to return to work.

If you're interested or feel compelled to volunteer in any of these ways, e-mail or call us today!
